The Seattle Mariners acquired infielder/outfielder Samad Taylor from the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday for a player to be named or cash.

Taylor made his major league debut last season, appearing in 31 games for the Royals. He hit .200 with 11 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 31 games.

The Seattle Mariners and Minnesota Twins swung a five-player trade Monday, with second baseman Jorge Polanco going to Seattle for outfield prospect Gabriel Gonzalez, reliever Justin Topa, starter Anthony DeSclafani and minor league pitcher Darren Bowen.

The Mariners are also giving the Twins cash considerations. Both teams announced the deal Monday night.

The Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers are exchanging a couple of their better prospects, as left-handed hitting Triple-A infielder Michael Busch and reliever Yency Almonte are headed to Chicago in exchange for Class A pitcher Jackson Ferris and outfielder Zyhir Hope, it was announced Thursday.

The Tampa Bay Rays made a pair of trades Friday, acquiring outfielder Richie Palacios from the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for right-handed reliever Andrew Kittredge and sending outfielder Luke Raley to the Seattle Mariners for infielder José Caballero.

The San Francisco Giants acquired 2021 Cy Young winner Robbie Ray from the Mariners for outfielder Mitch Haniger and right-hander Anthony DeSclafani, a swap of veterans that was the first of two deals Friday for Seattle.

The Mariners also acquired outfielder Luke Raley from the Tampa Bay Rays for infielder José Caballero, sources told ESPN.
